SDGs and Greening TVET at Samale Institute

Empowering Sustainable Development through Technical and Vocational Education and Training

At Samale Institute, we are committed to integrating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into our Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programs. Our initiative focuses on “greening” TVET to prepare students for sustainable practices and contribute to environmental conservation efforts in Somalia.

Why SDGs and Greening TVET?

The SDGs provide a universal framework for addressing global challenges, including poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace, and justice. By incorporating SDGs into TVET, we ensure that our graduates are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to promote sustainable development and contribute positively to their communities and the environment.

Our Approach

Curriculum Integration: We have integrated SDGs and environmental sustainability principles into our TVET curriculum. Key areas of focus include:

Environmental Awareness

Educating students on the importance of environmental conservation and sustainable practices.

Green Technologies

Introducing students to eco-friendly technologies and practices in various vocational fields.

Renewable Energy

Providing training on renewable energy technologies and their application in vocational contexts.
